Counting Crows new album 'Films About Ghosts: The Best Of...' is a celebration of the bands 10 years in the music business. Containing all of their hits, 'Films About Ghosts includes tracks from all five of their studio albums plus two new recordings. All their hits are here 'Hanging Around' 'Mr Jones', 'Mrs Potter's Lullaby', 'A Long December' and their rececent collaboration with Vanessa Carlton on the Joni Mitchell classic 'Big Yellow Taxi'. It's easy to forget just how many hits Counting Crows had. They exploded onto the music scene in 1996 with 'August And Everything After', an album which became an instant hit. For many people, the crows sort of faded out after that, surfacing now and again with a few minor hits, but this a myth when you look at how many successful albums they've had over the years '. 'Recovering The Satellites'. 'Across A Wire', 'This Desert Life' and ''Hard Candy.' It's good to see all their hits collected together in one album, letting us witness just what good performers and song-writers Counting Crows actually are. And it's an added bonus that there's some new material here too. 'Friends Of The Devil' is a cover of the Grateful Dead classic which the Crows really make their own, while 'She Don't Want Nobody Near' is a brand new Counting Crows track and is proof that after 10 years they still possess the talent to write great rock songs. 'Films About Ghosts..' is a great collection of songs from a great band and is a definite must-have for any Counting Crows fans.
