THE SABREJETS

Line Up : Liam Killen, Guitar; Marty Cotrell, Bass; Brian Young, Vocals; Bill Johnston, Drums

Northern Ireland's Rockabilly kings, The Sabrejets are without a doubt the most original and exciting band on the local scene. Bursting with raw energy and enthusiasm, they provide a breath of fresh air at a time when the music industry seems to be full of talentless acts who favour media hype over any sort of real talent or musical ability. Taking influences from the likes of Elvis, Charlie Feathers, The Ramones and T-Rex and combining it with their own unique sound to produce some amazingly wild, no-holds-barred rock n' roll, The Sabrejets aren't afraid to stand out own their own and do their own thing. Formed ten years ago by Brian Young, formerly of Punk band Rudi, The Sabrejets have all the ingredients of a great band - a charasmatic frontman, enigmatic guitarist, some amazing double-bass and drum wizardry - and above all, talent and passion by the bucketload. A band best experienced live, you'll find it difficult not to get get caught up in the moment and let yourself go. And you don't have to be a 40-something, tatoo-loving, leather-clad rockabilly to like them. Their energy, talent and passion combined with amazing guitar riffs and infectious melodies are enough to make any self-respecting music lover jump out of their chair and want to dance all night. Having been on the local music scene for about 10 years, they have already released 3 albums with another on the way early next year. The Sabrejets are definitely a band worth checking out.
